Programming the unit...
To program the course, you will first need a portable power source. We like to use a small 12 volt, 1.3 amp sealed lead acid (SLA) rechargeable battery. Connect this to your power cable and plug it in to the unit. The unit will turn on automatically with the motion sensor.
The To The Green GPS Unit will take 3 to 5 minutes to locate and load the proper number of satellites the first time it is activated in a new location. Subsequent activations will take 1 to 2 minutes. The unit will be ready when the display changes from “Locate…” to a hole number and a yardage, usually “1 999” on a new unit. The GPS antenna is in the upper left hand corner of the unit. It needs an unobstructed view of the sky to locate satellites and obtain reliable coordinates. Always hold the unit upright when programming.
To create a new course, press Menu two times - Unit will display "Program"
Press the up arrow to scroll to "New crs" (New Course), Press Distance to select.
The unit will quickly display "Course 1" and then display "18 Hole?" Press Distance for an 18 hole course or Menu for a 9 hole course.
The unit will quickly display "Stored!" and then display "C1 T1" This stands for Course 1 Tee Location 1.
Drive to a spot on the cart path by the tee box to program the location where you want the unit to flip to that hole. Press Distance. The unit will display "Prog. A." Press Distance again and the unit will quickly display "Stored!"
Press the Up Arrow. The unit will display "C1 G1" This stands for course 1 green 1. Drive to the green and GET OUT OF THE CART and walk to the center of the green. Press Distance. The unit will display "Prog A" Press Distance again and the unit will quickly display "Stored!"
Press the Up Arrow and repeat these steps for the next hole. The unit will display "C1 T2" - Course 1 Tee 2.
Tips...
The spot that is picked for the tee box is the center of a circle with an 18 yard radius. When the cart drives through this circle, the GPS unit will flip to the corresponding hole. When you have two tee boxes close to each other or a cart path that comes close to a tee box, you might have the GPS unit changing holes when you don't want it to. To change this, you will have to change the location of the trigger point.
Changing Tees and Greens - Press Menu twice and the unit will display "Program." Press the up arrow until you see "Edit crs." Press distance to proceed. Press the up arrow until you get to the desired course to edit and then press distance to select that course. Next, use the up and down arrows to scroll to the tee or green that you want to change. If you want to change the tee location for hole 5, scroll to "C1 T5." When you press the distance button and there is already a location stored, the unit will display "Change?" Press the distance button to proceed with the change, or the up or down arrow to cancel the change. Press menu when you are finished to get back to operational mode.
Delete a course Press menu twice and the unit will display “Program.” Press the up arrow until you see “Del crs” for delete course. Press the Distance button. Press the up arrow until you get the course that you want to delete. Press the Distance button. The unit will display “Sure?” Press the distance button again to delete the course.
